Costs
How much does a sewage treatment plant cost in Suffolk?
Every site is different, so we quote after a survey. As a guide, a fully installed domestic treatment plant in the UK commonly costs several thousand pounds and often runs past £10,000 on difficult sites.
What drives the price
| Factor | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Plant size (PE) | Larger houses and holiday lets need bigger plants. |
| Ground and groundwater | Wet or unstable ground needs extra shoring, pumping and anchoring. |
| Pipe runs | Distance from house to plant, and plant to outlet. |
| Access | Narrow gates or soft lawns change the machinery and protection needed. |
| Old tank | Emptying, then removal or backfill. |
| Spoil | A plant excavation produces a lot of soil to remove or spread. |
| Power | A supply for the blower from the house. |

Cost questions
Why can't you price a treatment plant over the phone?
Because the biggest costs depend on the site: how far the plant is from the house and the outlet, how deep it must go, the ground and water table, access for machinery, and what happens to the old tank.
Are there ongoing costs?
Yes. Expect regular emptying by a licensed tanker, an annual service, and a small amount of electricity for the blower.
